Yes, mermaid camp is a thing! Lured by the promise of learning “real mermaid responsibilities,” our host Laura von Holt attended Sirens of the Deep Mermaid Camp at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Florida, and she’s here to tell you the whole story! Laura learned how to wear a mermaid tail, how to swim and dance like a real Weeki Wachee mermaid, and she discovered some amazing mermaid secrets from her teachers, the Legendary Sirens of Weeki Wachee. Laura also interviewed her fellow mermaid campers, and got the inside scoop on what it’s like to be life-long mermaid from Mermaid Becky and Mermaid Vicky, who’s still performing at age 77! As if that wasn’t exciting enough, a photographer from Vogue Magazine was following them around the whole time! Join us for magic, mystery and a whole lot of holding your breath!
